At the start of the election campaign of Velichie (Grandeur) on Saturday, party leader Ivelin Mihailov said in Gabrovo that their top priority is to work for increasing the population of Bulgaria. The party wants to create conditions to get Bulgarians back from abroad.
Bulgaria was prosperous before the Boyko Borissov era, but then the three-time prime minister took control of one business after another, Mihailov said, speaking at a meeting with supporters.
He stressed the economic importance of building a tunnel under Mt Shipka in the Balkan Range. "The economy is movement of individuals, which is precisely what the tunnel will facilitate," he said.
According to Mihailov, Velichie have decided against relying on well-known figures to win over voters during the campaign. They will groom unpopular persons who will assume concrete commitments and will honour them afterwards.
Other Velichie members were also at the meeting, including Nedko Angelov, who tops the party's election candidates' list in Gabrovo.
