The Institute for Public Environment Development (IPED) released on Friday its findings from media advertising monitoring conducted during the elections. IPED noted that even before voting began, there was widespread public speculation about whether these would be the final parliamentary elections of the year. Meanwhile, the European Parliament campaign was largely overshadowed, as seen in the agendas of major political parties. As the elections approached, media spending increased significantly, reflected in higher expenditures on paid media during the final days of campaigning.

The monitoring covered 39 national and regional media entities, including TV channels, radio stations, newspapers, and news websites. Two days before the campaign's end, total advertising expenditure by participants reached BGN 2,528,822. This amount represented the funds spent on both the European Parliament and National Assembly elections until June 5, 2024.

IPED’s monitoring revealed that the Vazrazhdane political party spent the most, with BGN 493,385. Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria followed with BGN 373,410, and There Is Such a People (TISP) spent BGN 241,928. Among media outlets, Eurocom TV received the highest funding with BGN 566,081, followed by BNT with BGN 492,038, and Nova TV with BGN 345,656.

IPED announced that its Open Parliament platform has published a report detailing the advertising spending of political parties. The report covers unique campaign strategies, including media packages and free coverage agreements.
