Addressing party supporters in the southwestern town of Bansko, Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Korneliya Ninova argued that the BSP is the only authentic left party that will enter the next parliament. "Do not waste your votes on other made-up projects. Support us to be more and stronger to continue with our care for the people. Only we did not betray you and worked for a better life," Ninova stressed.

"The BSP proved with results the authentic left politics we have been pursuing for years. It is oriented towards children and young families, towards workers with minimum incomes, towards the poor and pensioners. In the spirit of left politics, we have stabilised state enterprises. The intervention of the state saved the economy during the crisis and supported enterprises not to shed jobs. And at the same time the state was financially stable and we ended the year with a deficit of less than 3%," she added.
