One of the two chairpersons of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), Delyan Peevski, slammed President Rumen Radev for trying to interfere in the election campaign and changing this country's value-based orientation. MRF published a statement to that effect on its website. "There is only one explanation for Rumen Radev's persistent attempts to interfere in the election campaign: he wants to, but he does not have the guts," said Peevski through the party press office.

The statement says, "Once again, he should be reminded to stop scaring people. If he is irresistibly drawn to active politics, he should leave the presidential post and enter the field of politics. If he does not have the courage to do so, he should wait out his term and stop lecturing and trying to mentor politicians. We know his "courage": he and his circle were exposed when I shed light on their plans to push through their political project 3rd of March. Radev should undestand that Bulgaria is a member of the EU and NATO and no one will change this value-based affiliation. The impostors who abuse the trust of the people, cowardly looking to the East where their idols are, cannot change the path of our country. The abuse of issues as important to the people as peace, security and the country's defence capabilities manifest their political bankruptcy and irresponsibility."
