At a BTA press conference in Vidin, on the Danube, Civic Bloc Coalition leader Ivan Geshev said that his formation's goal is for power to be a tool for change, not an end in itself. He added that they submitted a proposal to the National Assembly to amend the Constitution in order to allow civil associations to participate in the elections.
"We have not received an answer because if this happens, it will interfere with party monopoly," Geshev said.
He explained that the Civic Bloc aims to have local recognizable people participate in the election lists and in the organization, not "paratroopers" who descend from Sofia.
There are MP five candidates in the list of the coalition for Vidin region - one accountant, two young students and one farmer, said top-of-the-list candidate Lyudmil Tsvetanov, who is an economist. He worked in the banking sector and for about 10 years was the financial and administrative head of the Vidin hospital.
