Democratic Bulgaria co-chair Hristo Ivanov held a meeting with supporters in Razgrad, the party reported on Tuesday.

Hristov called for active voting and noted that the “mantra” that the June [European Parliament and Bulgarian parliamentary] elections will not decide anything and there will be another early elections is not true. “These elections will be crucial for Bulgaria for many years to come. They will not just determine the political majority in the National Assembly or who will make up the government, their results will determine who and how the composition of over 30 regulators will be chosen. That is why these elections are extremely important for [GERB leader] Boyko Borissov and [one of the two chairmen of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms] Delyan Peevski, who want to keep the hidden power of the deep state," the DB co-chair said.

Antoaneta Tsoneva, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria Coalition’s top-of-the-list candidate in Razgrad, also called on people to vote, as otherwise GERB and Movement for Rights and Freedoms will win the upcoming elections. “Give us strength with your vote and we will make real reforms, which means fair competitions, transparent spending of public finances, policies in favour of the people”, Tsoneva said.
