The national teams of Bulgaria recorded a win and a loss in the ninth round of the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad in Budapest.

In the men's category, the Bulgarian team prevailed with 3:1 points over Portugal. After the victory, the Bulgarian team, led by head coach Kiril Georgiev, had accumulated 12 match points, moving up to 28th place in the standings.

In the women's category, Bulgaria lost 1.5:2.5 points to Vietnam. The defeat left the Bulgarians in 18th place in the standings with 12 match points.

Among the men, the leader in the ranking is the team of India with 17 match-points, while among the women, Kazakhstan came out on top with 15 match-points.
