Bulgaria's men's and women's national teams scored victories in the seventh round of the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad in Budapest on Wednesday. The Bulgarian chess players defeated Egypt and Canada respectively.

With the win, the Bulgarian men's national team now has 10 match points. In the women's competition, Bulgaria beat Canada 2.5-1.5 points. This success proved much more difficult as each of the four games lasted at least 5 hours. With the win over Canada, Bulgaria now has 11 match points.

In both divisions of the tournament, India’s national teams lead the scoreboard.

The Chess Olympiad continues on Thursday with the eighth round games. The tournament in Budapest ends on Sunday.
