Caretaker Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Stoyan Andonov presented on Friday honorary plaques to Bulgarian Paralympian track and field athletes Ruzhdi Ruzhdi and Hristiyan Stoyanov for the medals they won at the 2024 Para Athletics World Championships in Kobe, Japan, the Ministry said in a press release.

Ruzhdi won the shot put title in the F55 class, beating the competition with a best attempt of 12.04 metres. In the 1500 m event, class T46, Stoyanov won silver, covering the distance in 3:49.54 minutes.

Andonov congratulated the para-athletes for their achievements and voiced confidence that they will snatch medals at the Paralympic Games in Paris this summer, as well. The Deputy Minister also awarded the athletes’ coaches - Radostin Todorov and Evgeni Ignatov.

The ceremony was attended by Iliya Lalov, Chairperson of the Bulgarian Paralympic Association, who thanked the Ministry for its support.
