Representing Bulgaria, Iranian taekwondo athlete Kimia Alizadeh claimed a gold medal at the 2024 European Championships in Belgrade (Serbia) on Sunday.
In her first official competition under the Bulgarian flag, Alizadeh won the European title in the women’s 62 kg weight class. In the final on Sunday, she beat world youth champion Aaliyah Powell (GBR) by 2 rounds to 1.
Alizadeh will represent Bulgaria at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
