Bulgarian swimmer Josif Miladinov qualified for the 100m butterfly final at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha. Clocking 51.72 second in the semifinal, Miladinov finished sixth out of the best eight in the event.

Miladinov reached the 100m final at the Tokyo Olympic games in 2020, but this will be his first world championships final in this event. The 100 m butterfly final is on Saturday.

Gabriela Georgieva qualified for the women 200 backstroke final with a time of 2:09.95 minutes, setting a national record.
