Gabriela Georgieva Wednesday qualified for the finals of the women’s 200 m backstroke at the 2023 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Otopeni. In the semi-finals, she finished fourth in 1:04.37 minutes, setting a new national record. 

This will be Georgieva’s first finals in her career. 

Another Bulgarian athlete in Otopeni, Diana Petkova, was disqualified in the 100 m semi-finals. A day earlier, she too set a national record.
