Bulgarian Ivan Harkov snatched a gold medal at the World Sambo Championships in Yerevan, Armenia. Harkov claimed the title in the men’s 79 kg weight class.

Bulgaria won two more medals at the World Championships. In the men’s 98 kg weight class, Delian Alishahi snatched a bronze, while Anna-Maria Manusheva claimed silver in the women’s 65 kg weight class.

This is Bulgaria’s first sambo title in a major international tournament since Maria Oryashkova’s crown three years ago.
