Bulgaria at the Olympics: Selishka Loses
Quarterfinals of
Olympic Wrestling Tournament


Tokyo, August 6 (BTA special correspondent Dimiter Velyov) -
Bulgaria's Miglena Selishka lost in the quarterfinals of the
50kg Olympic wrestling tournament in Tokyo.

Selishka was defeated by the pan-American champion Sarah Ann
Hildebrandt (USA) after only 108 seconds on the mat.

The Bulgarian led Hildebrandt 2-0 after the first minute, but
then Hildebrandt quickly took control and recorded a takedown on
Selishka and then ran an ankle lace five times for a 12-2
technical fall win.

Sarah Ann Hildebrandt lost to China's Sun Yananin the last seconds of the semifinals and failed to pull Miglena Selishka in the repechages.

Thus, the Bulgarian wrestling team ended the tournament in Tokyo, with bronze medals for Taybe Yusein (62 kg) and Evelina Nikolova (57 kg).
