Bulgaria is becoming an even more attractive and secure tourist destination as part of the eurozone, Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh said here on Wednesday. He was speaking at an information event within the National Information Campaign for the Introduction of the Euro in Bulgaria.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Environment and Water Atanas Kostadinov, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Dora Yankova, and Smolyan Mayor Nikolay Melemov.

The tourism sector is ready for the eurozone, with hotel and restaurant owners  and tour operators having long been working with the euro, Minister Borshosh noted. According to him, with the introduction of the single currency, Bulgaria is becoming part of the countries that are moving forward.

Tourism could be a solution to the demographic crisis, Minister Borshosh believes.
