site.btaSocial Assistance Agency Has New Executive Director

Labour and Social Policy Minister Borislav Gutsanov has appointed Ana Ananieva Executive Director of the Social Assistance Agency (SAA), Gutsanov's Ministry said on Tuesday. 

Ana Ananieva's previous appointment since 2014 has been SAA Deputy Executive Director. She is a lawyer, holds a MA in Law and  PhD in Constitutional Law from the Varna Free University. She was deputy chair of the State Agency for Child Protection, and previously worked as a chief expert at the Anti-Corruption, Conflict of Interests and Parliamentary Ethics Committee in the 41st National Assembly. In the 2009-2012 period, she was a lawyer at the Sofia Bar Association. In the 2006-2009  period she was an expert in the political office of the Prime Minister of Bulgaria. In the period before that she was a legal advisor in the state administration, said the Agency.

The SAA's website lists two Deputy Executive Directors: Lyubomir Lalev and Lachezar Simeonov.

Until recently, the executive director of the Agency was Veselin Kozhuharov.
