The Bulgarian percussion group Chinary Drums delivered an electrifying performance at the 17th edition of the international percussion music festival BUMfest in Zalec, Slovenia. The festival took place January 24-26.
Chinary Drums had a stint on January 25 at the Zalec Cultural Center, where the group was met with a standing ovation. "We are speechless! What energy! Chinary, you’ve lived up to your global fame!" shared festival organizers on social media, reflecting the overwhelming audience reaction.
Earlier that day, Kaloyan Pavlov of Chinary led a workshop on Bulgarian Music and Rhythms for Tupan and Drum Kit, adding an educational element to the festival.
The three-day festival featured around 50 musicians from Spain, Austria, Germany, and Slovenia.
Chinary performed in Slovenia for the first time.
BUMfest has been organized annually in Žalec since 2007 by the Slovenian Percussion Project and the local Municipal Enterprise for Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
