The flag of the new Navigation Maritime Bulgare (Navibulgar) bulk carrier Koznitza was raised at China's Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co. on Friday, the company said in a press release. Koznitza is the third vessel with this name in the history of the shipping company. She is the ninth of fifteen 32,000-tonne laker bulk carriers contracted by Navibulgar.

Merchant captain Martin Sotirov and engineer Georgi Kolev are her first master and chief engineer.

Koznitza is a laker bulk carrier (capable of sailing the Great Lakes in North America). With its new bulker, the company has fulfilled its planned delivery of new ships. 2024 is the year with the most new ships launched in Navibulgar's 132-year history. Three more vessels of same series are expected in 2025. By 2026, the company’s laker bulk carrier fleet will number 15 ships in total.
