site.btaHousehold Deposits Reach over BGN 75 Bln, Loans - Nearly BGN 36 Bln at End-July

At the end of July, deposits from the non-governmental sector (non-financial, financial enterprises, households) in banks amounted to BGN 120.116 billion (64.3% of GDP), and their year-on-year increase was 10.8%. The loans of the sector were BGN 85.581 billion (45.8% of GDP), which is a year-on-year  increase of 11.2%, shows Bulgarian National Bank data, published on its website.

The deposits of non-financial enterprises were BGN 40.945 billion (21.9% of GDP) at the end of July. This is a 13.2% increase compared to the same month in 2022. Deposits of financial enterprises also grew, by 4.9% year-on-year and at the end of July reached BGN 4.007 billion (2.1% of GDP).

Deposits of households and non-commercial organizations serving households were BGN 75.165 billion (40.2% of GDP), which is an increase of 9.9% compared to July 2022.

Loans to non-financial enterprises grew by 7.2% year-on-year in July and at the end of the month reached BGN 42.736 billion (22.9% of GDP), statistics show.

Loans for households and non-commercial organizations serving households were BGN 35.961 billion (19.2% of GDP). Compared to July 2022, they increased by 14.1%.

At the end of July, housing loans amounted to BGN 18.169 billion and increased by 18.3% on compared to the previous year. Consumer loans amounted to BGN 16.149 billion and increased by 10.9% compared to July 2022.

Loans granted to financial enterprises amounted to BGN 6.884 billion (3.7% of GDP) at the end of July. Compared to the same month of 2022, they increased by 23.8%.
