After confirmation by the European Commission, a new programme will be opened to finance businesses and support their transition to a circular economy, said Wednesday Rosen Draganov, state expert in the General Directorate of European Competitiveness Funds (DG EFC) at a forum on "Sustainable Circular Economy: Best Practices", organized on Wednesday by the Bulgarian Recovery and Recycling Association (BRRA) and BDE in cooperation Sofia Municipality and the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GBCIC).

The measure is in implementation of the green transition and circular economy programme under the Recovery and Resilience Plan and has a budget of BGN 180 million. The funds are aimed at micro, small, medium and large enterprises from the production sector. The minimum amount of aid is BGN 70,000. Micro enterprises can receive aid with a maximum amount of BGN 350,000, small ones - BGN 550,000, medium ones - BGN 750,000, and large ones - up to BGN 1,000,000. Enterprises elligable to receive these funds must be related to the processing industry. The funds from the programme can be spent on the purchase of machinery, equipment and specialized software for the production process, etc.
