The Little Prince by the Nikolay Binev Youth Theatre will be performed as part of the parallel program of the Varna Summer International Theatre Festival. The dramatization of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s novel was created by director Veselka Kuncheva and Polina Hristova and includes elements from another of the author’s works — Wind, Sand and Stars. Scenography, puppets, and costumes are by Marieta Golomehova, a frequent collaborator of Kuncheva. The music was composed by Milen Apostolov, and the choreography is by Yavor Kunchev. The performance also celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Youth Theatre.
According to the director, the core of the production lies in uniting the worlds of children and adults, encouraging intergenerational dialogue and exploration of inner worlds — a reflection of Saint-Exupéry’s belief that adults must preserve the child within, and children possess a wisdom we often underestimate.
The cast includes: Avgustina-Kalina Petkova, Aleksandar Yordanov, Anna-Valeria Gostanyan, Bozhidar Yordanov, Dimitar Ivanov - Mitch, Igor Korobko, Yordan Tinkov, Kristina Yaneva, Monika Ivanova, Sofia Treyman, Teodor Nenov, Yaroslava Pavlova, and Kyncho Kanev.
