The largest carnival parade in the country will take place today along the central boulevard in Kazanlak. This marks the final day of the 122nd Rose Festival, the municipal administration announced.

Vice President Iliana Iotova will be an official guest, her press office said. She will attend the traditional rose-picking ritual and a prayer service at the Holy Trinity Church. Iotova will also take part in the festive procession and deliver a greeting to the residents and guests of Kazanlak.

As is tradition on the final day of the Rose Festival, both residents and visitors of Kazanlak will be able to attend the rose-picking ritual in the rose gardens near the village of Kran, where they will experience the centuries-old custom. Official guests, delegations, and visitors from around the world are expected to join the event.

Following the ritual, a carnival parade will march along the city’s central boulevard, led by Queen Rose 2025, Maria Shamburova, and her runners-up, Konstantina Kostadinova and Tanya Chipilska. All local kindergartens and schools, cultural centers, folklore, sports, and other performance groups from Kazanlak will take part, showcasing the rich traditions of the region. The administration promises that this year’s parade will be more spectacular than ever.

After the festive procession, an open stage will be set up at the central “Seuthopolis” square, featuring performances by local and international groups. Throughout the day, visitors will also have the opportunity to attend the Rose Wine Expo in the halls of the “Iskra – 1860” community center, showcasing rosé wines.

The Rose Festival will officially close with a concert by folk singer Tsvetelina on the square’s main stage.

Due to the celebrations, temporary traffic arrangements have been introduced until 3:00 PM Sunday, along with changes to the schedules and routes of urban and intercity transportation.
