The Bulgarian film The Therapy will be featured in several international festivals in the US and Europe, including the 78th edition of the Salerno International Film Festival (Italy) and the 25th edition of the Santa Fe Film Festival in the USA, said the team of the new Bulgarian film, which will premiere on February 7.
The psychological drama-thriller, directed by Stanislav Hristov, poses the eternal question of the fear of criticism, shown through the eyes of artists. Actress and screenwriter Krassimira Belev plays the role of an eccentric psychologist who works with a group of blocked artists and her methods will shock both the participants in the therapy and the audience.
"The story resembles an unfinished painting. A moment of life that is painted, but the author is someone else, not us. Perhaps fate mixes the colours and predetermines the path of life, but one more touch can always be added. Despite the stain of fears, pain and unrealized dreams, there is also room on the canvas for what makes us happy. We just have to wish for it and realize that our time is limited, that every second forward is a second less,” said director Stanislav Hristov.
The film's cinematographer is Mihail Mihov. The original score is entirely acoustic by composer Georgi Strezov, and the cast also includes Sevar Ivanov, Stanka Kalcheva, Lili Sucheva, Leonid Yovchev, Rozaliya Abgaryan, Teodor Papazov, Nedilyana Pavlik, Aladin Aliibrahim, Viktor Mladenov, Bozhidar Popchev, Stefani Racheva, Mariana Georgieva.
