The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and the International Business School of Bulgaria (IBSB) on Tuesday signed a partnership agreement. This is the 35th university with which the agency has signed a cooperation agreement.
BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and IBSB founder and President Lena Gaydarska signed the document in the presence of Rector Prof. Georgi Apostolov and Vice-Rector Prof. Stela Baltova. The meeting took place in the new building of the school in Sofia.
"Three are the main aspects to our future cooperation: participation of IBSB graduates in the agency’s internship programs with the idea that some will stay permanently; providing a platform for professionals from the IBSB academic community to participate in scientific and public debates and forums organized by the BTA; and most importantly - together to open prospects for young people to stay to study and make a career in Bulgaria," said BTA Director General Kiril Valchev.
BTA will become IBSB’s media partner in various initiatives and events by publishing information about them at home and abroad. "BTA's goal is to publish weekly items related to the university's activities. A problem for scientists is that they often find it difficult to present their matter in simpler language and this is where the help from journalists comes in," Valchev added. He drew attention to an initiative of the agency "BG Tourism", for the forums of which they will rely on lecturers of IBSB.
IBSB President Lena Gaydarska expressed the hope that this partnership will mark the beginning of a systematic approach to covering the messages and achievements of the school, which has a history of nearly 30 years. According to the latest rating system of universities in Bulgaria, IBSB is in the top 10 in the overall ranking and first among private universities in the country. Over 30,000 students have graduated from IBSB, many of them from Europe, Ukraine, Russia, Colombia, Albania, Guinea. "We are an example of the good things happening in Bulgarian education," Gaydarska said.
Rector Prof. Georgi Apostolov added that IBSB is accredited to hold distance learning courses, which is of great interest to Bulgarians living abroad. Bulgarian students from the US, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Portugal, Germany, England are enrolled in the distance learning BA and MA courses. He voiced that through BTA the school would attract more students from abroad.
