The Museum of Religions Architectural Complex in Stara Zagora is among six nominees at the CT Award - Connecting Cultures, which is organized by the Union of Tourist Representations in Germany, said the municipal press centre on Monday.

The nomination was initiated by Tihomir Patarinski, Tourism Attaché at the Bulgarian Embassy in Berlin. Stara Zagora Municipality will be represented by the Tourism Department and the Regional History Museum.

The competition aims to recognize people or projects that see travel not only as an experience, but as a way to promote intercultural exchange and understanding. The event to announce the first three places, as well as the award ceremony, will take place in January during the largest tourism exhibition for end customers in Europe - CMT Stuttgart.

On December 11, an exhibition called Bulgaria and the Mosaics will open in the Museum of Religions Architectural Complex. The exhibition aims to present the rich and diverse mosaic heritage in Bulgaria through selected details of ancient, medieval and modern mosaics. It is implemented by the Balkan Heritage Foundation for the State Cultural Institute under the Foreign Affairs Ministry in 2023.
