Guillaume Canet will not be heading the feature film competition jury at the 10th CineLibri International Book and Movie Festival as previously announced, Jacqueline Wagenstein, who is the festival’s founder, president, artistic director, and chief selector, said on Wednesday. One of the brightest stars of contemporary French cinema cancelled his participation at the last minute, she added.

The jury will consist of writers Christine Leunens and Daniel Kehlmann and actresses Ann Cusack and Maria Bakalova, as announced already. The new member will be Argentine actor Ignacio Serricchio, who has over 40 roles. He is known for his roles in Doctor House, Bones, Witches of East End, Lost in Space, and The Mule, to name but a few.

Twenty years after his first visit to Bulgaria, Scottish writer Irvine Welsh will guest at the CineLibri and present the re-release of Trainspotting and a documentary about him titled Choose Irvine and directed by Ian Jefferies.

"I am delighted that this unique festival has managed to blend literature, cinema, and performance art in such an amazing way. We often hold discussions about notions such as decentralization in institutions, which seem completely hollow unless they find real-world application - something the organizers of CineLibri are doing, Deputy Culture Minister Ilko Ganev said.

The 10th CineLibri International Book and Movie Festival will be taking place from October 10 to November 3 under the motto Endless Poetry.
