In a video address on Facebook on the occasion of National Awakeners’ Day, Vazrazhdane party leader Kostadin Kostadinov said that this day honours "the enormous sacrifice and contribution of a handful of people, thanks to whom we exist as a nation." "On November 1, let each of us bow our heads before the deeds of our predecessors and remember that the blood of the national awakeners flows in our veins and that every Bulgarian can be a national awakener," Kostadinov said.

"Being an awakener is inherent in every person, as long as they desire it. Each of us can be a national awakener, because, for better or worse, our people still need constant awakening, constant guidance, and constant good examples. In our time, bad examples outnumber good ones so be good, be the awakeners of our modern era, and never forget that what each of us does is for our children and for the future of Bulgaria," the Vazrazhdane leader said.
