With a march from the National Palace of Culture (NDK) to the presidential administration building on Sunday, Bulgarian and foreign citizens demanded freedom for Palestine.
"Down with the occupation," "Freedom for Palestine," "Peace for all," the crowd chanted.
The protesters said they had come to support the Palestinian people. “We all deserve our freedom, planet Earth is home to everyone, so we want freedom and justice for them,” one of the protesters told BTA.
At the demonstration there were also calls for justice for UN worker Marin Marinov, who was killed in Gaza.
The Foreign Ministry reported the death of a Bulgarian citizen, was working for the UN, in Gaza, on March 19. The Israeli Defence Forces admitted that their soldiers mistakenly fired on a UN facility in central Gaza, killing the Bulgarian.
In recent months, protesters expressed their support for Palestine in similar demonstrations in Germany, UK, Italy, and Australia.
The protest was organized on Facebook by The Association of Palestinians in Bulgaria.
