site.btaTraffic on Danube Bridge near Ruse to Be Suspended on November 4 Due to Construction Works
The Danube Bridge near Ruse will be closed for traffic on Tuesday, November 4, due to major repairs, the press centre of the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) said on Monday.
The passage of passenger cars will be suspended from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., while the interruption for heavy goods vehicles will last for 24 hours from 9:00 a.m. on November 4 to 9:00 a.m. on November 5. The RIA noted that the construction activities in the 320-metre long section in the direction of Romania requires no vehicle traffic during the first 12 hours after the laying of the concrete mixtures. "Compliance with this technological requirement in the construction process requires a complete stop to traffic," the RIA pointed out.
The RIA apologized to drivers for the inconvenience caused. During the traffic stop, drivers of heavy goods vehicles will be able to use parking lots and recreation areas in the regions of Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Yambol and Haskovo.
The road agency emphasized that since the start of the major repair of the bridge on July 10, 2024, traffic has been stopped for 24 hours only once. For the rest of the time, construction and installation work is carried out daily without stopping vehicles. The activities are organized so that vehicles can pass in both directions in the lane where work is not taking place.
