site.btaGERB Leader Borissov Holds Meeting with Education Minister, Sofia University Rector, Trade Union Members

GERB leader Boyko Borissov held a meeting with trade union members, Sofia University rector Georgi Valchev, Education Minister Krasimir Valchev and other GERB-UDF MPs in Sofia on Friday. The meeting was broadcast on Facebook.

Borissov listed the party’s achievements and emphasised that for GERB, education, people’s health, security and defence have always been priorities.

“We appreciate that we are finally receiving decent salaries in the field and, if in the coming years we manage to improve the material base step by step, this will be a recognition for Bulgaria,” said the Sofia University rector.

The Education Minister announced that this year there has been a 36% increase in the admission of nursing students, thanks to the fact that they have been exempted from tuition fees. "The Faculty of Physics is completely full, which has not happened for 10 years at Sofia University. There has also been great interest in studying natural and mathematical sciences, and 184 people have been admitted for PR studies," he added.
