site.btaBulgaria Expected to Have Five New Medical Helicopters by End of Year, Says Health Minister

Minister of Health Silvi Kirilov stated that Bulgaria expects to have five new medical helicopters by the end of 2025. The Minister also said that a fourth helicopter would arrive soon with two helicopters currently being in Sliven and one in Sofia. These statements were made at the opening of a helicopter pad in the courtyard of the Gabrovo Regional Hospital on Tuesday.
"By June-July next year, we will have three more medical helicopters. There are now nine helicopter pads, including the one in Gabrovo. The idea is to have 18 helicopter pads, but some are behind schedule due to construction problems with the terrain. This is for the first stage, for which financial resources have been secured. The idea is to have sites in all regional cities", said Minister Kirilov. He justified the lack of a helicopter for the opening of the site in Gabrovo with the considerable financial resources required for the transport of the equipment.
