“The community of free people that we represent together is the alternative for Bulgaria’s development,” said Bozhidar Bozhanov, Co-Chair of Yes, Bulgaria, part of Democratic Bulgaria (DB), in his greeting to the delegates at the General Assembly of Continue the Change (CC), coalition partner of DB. CC convened a General Assembly in Sofia to elect new leadership and adopt a new political platform. The two-day meeting is taking place at the Inter Expo Center.

“This community is far broader than the votes we received in the last elections. It is the alternative to backroom governance with mafia-style approaches, which we have been witnessing lately,” Bozhanov added.

“This coalition can and must convince people that it is an alternative. We need to show through our actions that we are the alternative, because this alternative is necessary as a response to the ongoing political crisis, which has not ended and is now returning with even greater intensity, precisely due to the illegitimate exercise of power in recent times,” he noted.

Bozhanov acknowledged that Yes, Bulgaria and CC have had differences on certain issues and laws, but emphasized that the shared goal keeping them together is what matters. “We can be strong in this diversity, but we must convince people that this is indeed the case,” he concluded.
