site.btaBulgarian Deputy PM Meets Armenian PM to Discuss Economic Cooperation


A delegation led by Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov was received by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan on Tuesday, the Cabinet’s press service said on Wednesday. The two sides discussed the necessity of organizing business forums and taking steps to promote cooperation in economic sector. They also exchanged views on cooperation between Armenia and the European Union, as well as other issues of regional significance.
During the meeting, Pashinyan emphasized that the strong political and cultural ties between the two countries should serve as a foundation for expanding economic cooperation. He expressed hope that Zafirov’s visit would help accelerate efforts to deepen this collaboration.
Zafirov expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and congratulated the Republic of Armenia on its Independence Day, celebrated on September 21. He emphasized the centuries-old ties between the two countries and peoples, adding that Bulgaria values the expansion of trade and economic relations with Armenia. Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister also welcomed the signing of a declaration and peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington D.C. on August 8.
Also participating in the meeting was Bulgarian Deputy Parliament Chair and BSP - United Left Floor Leader Dragomir Stoynev, who underlined the importance of the relations between the two parliaments as a key element in strengthening and promoting friendship between the two peoples.
