site.btaPresident: Bulgaria and North Macedonia Are in Mourning, Share Hope for Speedy Recovery of Injured in Kocani Fire
Bulgaria and North Macedonia are in mourning over the youths who lost their lives in Sunday's fire in Kocani, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev told journalists here on Tuesday. "We share the pain of the loss of innocent human lives and the hope for the speedy recovery of the injured," he added. Radev and Vice President Iliana Iotova visited the Embassy of North Macedonia in Sofia to express their condolences in the mourning book there over the tragedy in Kocani.
The President underscored that Bulgaria will continue to provide assistance to its neighbour, as the Spartan military transport aircraft and medical teams are ready to respond in due time. "Bulgaria is ready and will continue to help with whatever is needed. We are waiting for the Republic of North Macedonia to decide whether there is a need to take ten more people to our country for treatment," the head of State said.
Radev thanked the Bulgarian medical teams and servicepersons for their quick response and professionalism in transporting the injured and providing specialized medical assistance. "This tragedy has shown that people on both sides of the border can rely on each other not only in days of hardship, but for the sake of our common European future," the head of State told journalists.
