Tourism and sports conditions in the mountains are unfavourable, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross told BTA on Tuesday.

The weather in many mountainous areas is foggy, with moderate winds. Snowfall has been reported on Vitosha.

Fog is also present in winter resorts and on ski slopes. The snow is heavy, and skiers should exercise caution, mountain rescuers warned.

The mountains will stay cloudy, with fog on the ridges. Snow is expected in many areas, along with strong winds. Highs: -4C at 1,200 m and -9C at 2,000 m.
