"I congratulate all friends in the Republican Party on the election win," he said in a Facebook post. "Winning a majority in the Congress and the House of Representatives, and the looming presidential election win is a considerable political accomplishment," he says.

He recalls his visit to Washington D.C. a month ago and discussing with Mike Pompeo in depth important political and economic factors affecting Bulgaria and the wider region. "Certainly, Bulgaria's future depends most of all on Bulgarian people but good cooperation with the US is important for how this country will position itself in the changing geopolitical reality," the post goes.
