Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov attended the annual meeting of the Association of Honorary Consuls in Bulgaria on September 16, the ministry said on Wednesday. Borislav Boyanov - Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Malta and President of the Board of Directors of the Association briefed the members on the activities of the Association during the past year.

Satisfaction was expressed with the excellent and effective cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of both the organization and its individual members. In his address Minister Ivan Kondov gave an overview of the Foreign Ministry's policy priorities, activities and commitments in preparation for the upcoming parliamentary elections abroad. The Association counts 80 honorary consuls of foreign countries, of which only 20 have diplomatic missions in Bulgaria.

A large number of questions were also addressed to the Minister, which he answered during the formal part and during the informal talks that continued after the end of the meeting.
