Parliament Adopts Resolution to Close European Higher School of Economics and Management in Plovdiv

Parliament adopted a resolution Wednesday to close the specialized European Higher School of Economics and Management in Plovdiv.

The European Higher School of Economics and Management in Plovdiv has not submitted any information on active, interrupted or graduating students and postgraduates since the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021. Its institutional accreditation expired on May 4, 2022, and the programmatic accreditation of the two professional fields in which the university was entitled to teach expired in January 2024. In accordance with the provisions of the Higher Education Act, higher education institutions are closed down by the National Assembly when they have not requested institutional accreditation within the timeframes stipulated in the law, the reasons for the resolution state.

The European Higher School of Economics and Management shall be closed with effect from the day of adoption of the resolution. Within two months, its archives shall be transferred to the Higher School of Security and Economics in Plovdiv, the MPs further decided.
