Ekaterina Zaharieva's portfolio as EU commissioner is very promising, caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said at the beginning of Wednesday's Government meeting, commenting on the portfolio of start-ups, research and innovation, which was assigned to Zaharieva in the draft structure of the new European Commission (EC). 

"It is an extremely topical portfolio in the European Union and Bulgaria. I am of the opinion that the portfolio is defined by the Commissioner, not the other way around. I am convinced that Ekaterina Zaharieva will prove what she's capable of this time as well," Glavchev said. He wished her success in the upcoming hearing before the European Parliament and the relevant committees. 

Politicians made vastly differing comments on Tuesday about the inclusion of Ekaterina Zaharieva, who will be responsible for startups, research and innovation, in the draft structure of the new European Commission (EC).
