The meeting reviewed the implementation of the National Action Plan to Combat Anti-Semitism (2023-2027), exchanged views on the results achieved in the first year of the plan's implementation and identified follow-up actions. In the framework of the agenda of the Contact Group, information was provided on the participation of Bulgaria in the international forums held since the beginning of the year on issues related to the fight against anti-Semitism and the resulting commitments.
The growing number of acts of anti-Semitism worldwide following the Hamas terrorist attacks on the State of Israel on October 7 2023 were among the highlights of the issues discussed. All participants agreed on the crucial importance of prevention in order to curb and counter anti-Semitic acts. Representatives of state structures and NGOs jointly reaffirmed their will and determination to actively combat discrimination, intolerance and hatred, including anti-Semitism, which have no place in Bulgarian society.
