National Assembly to Hold Extraordinary Sitting on September 17

The National Assembly will hold an extraordinary sitting from 1 p.m. on September 17, said Deputy Parliament Speaker Tsoncho Ganev on Friday, who briefed the MPs on the order of National Assembly Speaker Raya Nazaryan.

The first item on the agenda will consider a bill to amend and supplement the Local Taxes and Fees Act with GERB-UDF MPs Nikolay Nankov, Temenuzhka Petkova and Aleksander Nenkov as sponsors.

The second item is a hearing of the caretaker Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova, caretaker Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov on the expiry of the September 11 deadline for the report adopted by the Council of Ministers on taking action on amendments to Bulgaria's National Recovery and Resilience Plan and making proposals on the content of the RePowerEU chapter, with the GERB Deputy Chair Tomislav Donchev and a group of GERB-UDF MPs as sponsors.

Item three of the fixed agenda provides for a hearing of caretajer Transport Minister Krasimira Stoyanova, caretaker Interior Minister Atanas Ilkov, caretaker Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova and caretaker Regional Development Minister Violeta Koritarova on the difficulties in crossing the borders with Greece, Turkiye and Romania and the initiative of Greece and Turkiye to find an alternative transport corridor to bypass Bulgaria, with sponsors acting BSP for Bulgaria Floor Leader Borislav Gutsanov and MP Ivan Ivanov.
