site.btaUDF Leader Hristov: Negotiations for Regular Government Will Be Difficult, Two-party Coalition Will Not Be Enough
After the parliamentary elections things will be difficult, as more political formations are expected to be in parliament, Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) leader Rumen Hristov said on Nova TV on Sunday. According to him, a coalition of two-parties or even three parties will not be enough to form a regular government. Hristov predicted that if a regular government is formed, it will consist of four political entities.
Negotiations for a regular government will be very difficult, and a regular government is very important for Brussels. A regular government has a four-year term, while a caretaker government has three months, Hristov said.
He was certain that in the upcoming early parliamentary elections the GERB-UDF coalition will again come first.
Asked what kind of talks they will hold on forming a government if they win the elections, Hristov said they will insist on forming a government with the first mandate. He added that GERB-UDF would not negotiate with the pro-Russian parties Vazrazhdane and the Bulgarian Socialist Party.
Commenting on the breakup of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Hristov said that it is very unpleasant and the formation does not become stronger.
Hristov speculated that both wings will make it to the next legislature.
