"I am content that the Interior Ministry is a valuable and worthy international partner," said caretaker Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov in a Facebook post. "The assessment is not only mine, I have heard it during the numerous meetings I have held over the past months with my colleagues from EU member states and diplomatic representatives," he noted, adding that the assessment has been shared at international forums and has been confirmed by EU Commissioner Ylva Johansson.

Stoyanov highlighted the international recognition of Bulgaria's constant efforts to tackle criminal networks of smugglers and migration pressure. "Our membership of the Schengen area is another proof of the consistent and firm actions to curb the migration pressure and of the efforts and professionalism of the border police officers, protecting with dignity the borders of a united Europe," the minister believes.

The US law enforcement authorities also give an extremely high evaluation for the cooperation with Bulgaria's Interior Ministry, Stoyanov wrote, adding that the ministry has excellent relations with the FBI, DEA, Secret Service, as well as the Regional Security Office at the US Embassy here.
