On Thursday, Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov and University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy Rector Gichka Kutova discussed the potential for establishing a branch of the University in the seaside city, according to the press centre of the Burgas administration.

Nikolov presented the facilities suitable for future training of students, as well as for a student campus which is expected to go under construction this year. He expressed willingness to provide opportunities for pre-graduate internships in the municipal administration for architecture students, as well as to cooperate with the University in expert consultations for future projects and the preservation of cultural heritage in the city. 

Kutova stated the readiness of the University to partner with Burgas Municipality with outsourced training and internships for students in the seaside city.

A proposal to open a branch of the University in Burgas is to be submitted to the academic council at the next meeting. 

The Municipality of Burgas will conduct a survey among industry organizations and young people in the city on what university courses would be of interest in this city.
