site.btaGavrailovo to Hold 22nd Edition of Golden Peach Festival

Residents of Gavrailovo (Sliven region) are preparing for the 22nd edition of the Golden Peach Festival on July 26, said the local community centre on Monday.

Traditionally, the festival will feature competitions for children's musical and dance creativity. There will also be drawing, poetry and prose competitions, as well as fastest peach eating, peach preserves-making, peach brandy and more.

The event is organized by the community centre, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Sliven Municipality, Gavrailovo town hall, the Plovdiv Institute of Fruit Growing, the Bulgarian Peach Organization of Peach Growers and the National Agricultural Advisory Service.

Nearly 70% of the peach plantations in Southeastern Bulgaria are located in the peach orchards near Sliven.
