site.btaHeavy Rain Hits Montana Twice in One Day
Heavy rain hit Montana twice on Thursday, said Lenochka Angelova, head of the local meteorological station. A total of 9.4 litres per square metre of rain, mixed with hail, fell in the span of ten minutes before noon. Between 19:00 and 19:30 a thunderstorm raged again, during which the rainfall was 23.4 litres per square metre.
Angelova noted that such extreme natural phenomena are characteristic of the season, but in recent years they have been repeating with greater intensity.
In the spring of 2023, the amount of precipitation in Montana and some parts of the region exceeded the monthly norms by seven times, and in January of this year, a temperature of 28.5 degrees in the shade was measured as well.
