A Spring National Physics Competition will be held in Kardzhali from March 8 to March 10 with the participation of nearly 280 students, Angelina Kostova, head of the Regional Department of Education, said on Friday. The competition is organised by the Regional Department of Education together with the Yordan Yovkov Secondary School.

The three-day event will be opened in the hall of the Arpezos Hotel at 6 p.m. on Friday. The actual competition will begin at the host school at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The students will showcase their knowledge in a total of seven competitions, with one of them being held especially for students with enhanced knowledge in the subject of physics, said Yordan Yovkov Secondary School Director Lyudmila Chausheva. She added that Kardzhali is hosting the forum for the first time. A national commission with Education Ministry representatives will evaluate the students' works, and the winners will be awarded at an official ceremony on Sunday.

Afterwards, a sightseeing tour of the town is planned for the students. One group will visit the Sveti Yoan Predtecha Monastery, another the astronomical observatory, and a third The Petrified Wedding natural phenomenon.
