site.btaFlu Epidemic Declared in Gabrovo, Plovdiv Regions
A flu epidemic was declared in Gabrovo and Plovdiv Regions between January 22 and 28 due to the the increased morbidity, the Health Ministry said on Friday.
The temporary measures to be introduced there are the same as in Smolyan Region, where a flu epidemic was declared on January 17 – suspension of routine consultations for healthy pregnant women and children; suspension of preventive check-ups and mandatory immunizations and re-immunizations; suspension of visits to hospitals and social care facilities for children and adults; daily examinations in nurseries, kindergartens and schools, with sick children to be returned home; no sick staff to be allowed to work; disinfection and frequent ventilation of premises.
Given the circulation of influenza viruses throughout the country, the Health Ministry reminds that wearing masks and keeping distance in crowded spaces are advisable to prevent contracting influenza, coronavirus and acute respiratory diseases.
