Deputy Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova held a meeting with the Danish Foreign Ministry's Special Envoy on Migration, the line Ministry said on Tuesday. They discussed the migration challenges facing the European Union (EU) and possible common solutions at EU level.

There was a common view on the importance of preventive measures to curb migration and the need to strengthen cooperation with third countries to reduce the flow of migration to the EU.

The Danish side expressed support for increased EU funding to improve infrastructure at the EU's external borders. Cooperation between the two countries will continue with an eye on the next European Council on June29-30, where leaders will discuss the migration issue.
