On this date in Bulgarian history: 1876: April Uprising against Ottoman rule suppressed in Batak. 4,000 people are killed, town is burned down. 1925: Administration and Police Act is promulgated, marking new stage in development of Bulgarian police force. 1999: Parliament ratifies agreement permitting overflight by NATO aircraft within Operation Allied Force against Yugoslavia.
